The San Francisco Film Office has recently nominated us for a Cola Award, four of which I've received in the past for my Location work. I'm sharing a few key accomplishments from a project I recently did for Banana Republic with a 65-person team out of New York: The entire shoot was on location. Our team included superstar Lauren Hutton on location, as well as world class fashion direction by Tonne Goodman and styling by Ken Fulk. The team was able to capture world-class fashion stills and video at some of San Francisco's most iconic locations. We spent two days at a huge and historic Pacific Heights mansion, and two days on City streets in the city's most vibrant neighborhoods. We filmed in the heart of North Beach, including one of the busiest and most colorful intersections, as well as at the world famous Jack Kerouac Alley. In the meantime, my team prepped in Chinatown for a night shoot, where the exquisite intimacy of the historic alleys played a leading role in the story. We worked every aspect of the project, from Scouting and Permitting to On-Site Management. Bringing a large crew into a major city is always a daunting task, but our coordinated outreach to the neighborhoods, with the guidance of the film office, generated a goodwill that allowed us to be well-received and efficient. We also worked closely with the National Park Service on some very successful scenes featuring the models in the context of the Golden Gate and San Francisco Bay. The flexibility we were able to negotiate with the Permittors and the neighbors allowed our Creative Team the space they needed to improvise new ideas on the fly.

Studio Tech Supports Superman Press Junket

Up in the sky. It's a bird, it's a Plane, it's the new 'Superman' movie. The cast and director James Dunn gathered in Culver City for the Superman press junket on Jun 26 - 29th and Studio Tech was there. In partnership with Buttercup Venues and Glass Engine Productions, Studio Tech provided general Wi-Fi for the production team, cast, and press, live streaming of interviews via zoom, and daily content uploads. The installation included gigabit fiber internet, 16 Wi-Fi Access Points, and nearly three thousand feet of ethernet cabling.

On a production update note, Los Angeles logged 2,224 TV shoot days in Q2 2025, a 17% increase over last year. Feature films had 553 shoot days in Q2, up 22.6% from Q1 2025. TV Dramas logged 782 shoot days in the 2nd quarter, which is up 9.5% the highest observed level since the pre-strike period Q4 in 2022. TV Reality logged in 1,124 shoot days last quarter, which is the strongest level since Q1 2024. Unfortunately, commercial production declined 15.3% making that category the weakest of the 3 major categories tracked by FilmLA. "While there is work ahead to bring Los Angeles-area production back to its full potential, we are optimistic, " said FilmLA President Paul Audley. We are also optimistic at Loyal Studios. Besides traditional production, there are lots of other types of content creation going on. We at Loyal Studios have reduced prices and added a variety of free equipment to our production facilities in order to help stimulate our industry.
