As an essential part of production in Los Angeles walkie-talkies are hand-held, portable, communication equipment such as two-way radio transceivers. Communication equipment like walkie talkies typically resemble a slightly larger telephone handset with an antenna sticking out of the top. Where a phone's earpiece is only loud enough to be heard by the user, communication equipment like walkie-talkie's built-in speaker can be heard by the user and those in the user's immediate vicinity, which is most beneficial when coordinating film or event production.
