2014 COLA Nominations are now open

By: California On Location Awards | June 18, 2014

2014 COLA Nominations are now open
Nominations are now being accepted for the 20th annual California On Location Awards (COLAs), the premier awards ceremony honoring the professional excellence of location managers, production companies, and public employees working on-location in California. The deadline for nominations is midnight on June 30.

Winners of awards will be announced at the COLAs 20th anniversary event on Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Organizers of the awards ceremony are the Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS)-41 film commissions throughout our state--with support from the Teamsters Local 399.

Nominations are submitted by FLICS members, or by location professionals and production companies wishing to recognize deserving film industry colleagues. Nomination forms and details are online at www.californiaonlocationawards.com.

Awards will be given in a variety of categories such as individual location manager of the year for studio or independent feature, TV episodic, commercials, reality television and stills. Group honors go to location teams of the year for studio or independent feature, and for television episodic. Government employees at the city, county, state and federal level within the state will be recognized for their special efforts to facilitate film productions in their jurisdictions. Representatives of Teamsters Local 399 also salute "rising" assistant location managers in feature film and television episodic categories.

About FLICS:
FLICS was created to heighten the level of professionalism and visibility of California Film Commissions and Offices by developing quality standards, guidelines, education and marketing components for its members. The FLICS organization will provide its members with valuable filming resources from location assistance, and phases of production to industry terms and tips on building and maintaining an effective film office.

FLICS, through its members, provides production clients with valuable and timely location support and resources, and hosts two signature events each year for location professionals, producers and others in the industry critical to location decision making: the California Only Show and Wine Reception in the spring; and in the fall the California On Location Awards gala honoring the best work of location professionals and productions filming in the state during the year.
