The Camera House Welcomes Paul Royalty
By: The Camera House | May 14, 2014
Please join us all at The Camera House in welcoming one of the industry's good guys, Paul Royalty! We are incredibly excited to have Paul join us. He is a fantastic addition to both the Marketing and Management team. Paul spent the past 15 years at Mole-Richardson in both Lighting Sales and Rentals, as well as Product Development. Paul grew the MR footprint all over the world and he has extensive knowledge and experience in customer service and the technical needs of clients in all areas of the business... Welcome Paul Royalty! Thank you for joining us; this is going to be a lot of fun! Game on!
And now, a little about Paul from Paul...
I was bitten by the "film" bug the day I walked onto the Paramount lot for a summer internship over 20 years ago. They called the back lot departments ArtCraft back then, and all I knew was that it was this amazing, dynamic blend of creativity and technical support, and I wanted to be a part of it. I was exposed to Set Construction, Camera, Grip, Set Lighting... really every department that works together to 'get the shot'. In a word... awesome!
After a good run at Paramount, I found myself in Las Vegas to finish my degree at UNLV. There, I hooked up with a Gaffer and his growing rental company. That was trial-by-fire for sure, but working with Production, DPs, and Gaffers across hundreds of on-set days and nights truly was the best education a person could get.
But this education had to be applied somewhere, and that place became Mole-Richardson Co. Recruited to open the Eastern part of the US, I was the first employee in over 40 years to work outside of the Hollywood headquarters.
Fast-forward 15 years and hundreds of thousands of air miles, I've now traveled extensively around the world to work with cinematographers, lighting professionals and equipment providers of all sizes. I have a deep understanding of the ever-changing and growing technical needs of production and the demands placed on suppliers. It's this diverse experience, as well as a love of great customer service, that makes The Camera House and me such an ideal match. We also share a helluva sense of humor.
About The Camera House:
The Camera House was founded in 1999 and for the past 14 years has specialized in high-end commercial, music video, feature and TV production. TCH offers both Digital and Film equipment, as well as workflow solutions.
