The Producers Guild of America (PGA) is pleased to announce that it will now be accepting applications for its tenth annual Producing Workshop: "The Power of Diversity." Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 18th at midnight Pacific Time. Ten participants will be selected to take part in the eight-week workshop that will run from June 10th through August 2nd in Los Angeles. "The Power of Diversity" workshop is designed to foster the development of aspiring and seasoned producers who bring diverse perspectives to television, film and digital media. In the past ten years, the workshop has generated top creative talent who have gone on to achieve resounding success in the industry. Since its inception, "The Power of Diversity" has been offered free of charge to its participants, a practice that continues this year.
This multi-session program provides participants with master classes headlined by some of today's top producers, as well as one-on-one mentoring sessions with members of the Guild's Diversity Committee. Topics are tailored to the participants and their individual projects, including aspects of producing such as story development, pitching, packaging, financing, marketing and new media opportunities.
"For years, the Producers Guild has been at the forefront of inclusion. As producers, it is our duty to empower and guide the personal development of fellow aspiring filmmakers," said workshop Chair Deborah Calla, who also chairs the PGA Diversity Committee. "Through this creative and engaging program, we are able to provide the tools for entertainment professionals to further discover and follow their passion, challenge them to gain a broader understanding of the entertainment industry, and assist them in bringing their projects to completion."

Past mentors have included top producing talent such as Bruce Cohen (SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, AMERICAN BEAUTY), Mark Gordon ("Grey's Anatomy," "Ray Donovan," SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, 2012), Marshall Herskovitz (DEFIANCE, BLOOD DIAMOND, THE LAST SAMURAI), Damon Lindelof ("Lost," STAR TREK), Caryn Mandabach ("Nurse Jackie," "That 70s Show"), Lori McCreary (INVICTUS, THE MAIDEN HEIST), Shonda Rhimes ("Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice"), Luis Barreto ("America's Next Top Model," "LA Ink"), Ali LeRoi ("Everybody Hates Chris," ARE WE THERE YET?) and Ralph Winter (X-MEN, FANTASTIC FOUR), among many others.
