Step and Repeat LA Creates Media Wall for Capital Records 75th Anniversary Hollywood Gala

By: Step and Repeat LA | December 1, 2016

Step and Repeat LA Creates Media Wall for Capital Records
Shadow Hills, CA - Step and Repeat LA is a company that specializes in the creation of red carpet backdrops, or better known in the music and entertainment industry as 'step and repeats'. These backdrops feature an array of event sponsor logos that have been laid out in a step or diagonal pattern. Step and repeats are most commonly used for televised award ceremonies, and have become increasingly popular at grand openings, birthday parties and anniversary parties.

Capital Records is an American record label part of the Capitol Music Group and a wholly owned division of Universal Music Group. The label was founded as the first West Coast-based record label in the United States in 1942 by three industry insiders named Johnny Mercer, Buddy DeSylva and Glenn Wallichs. In 1955, the label was acquired by the British music conglomerate EMI as its North American subsidiary. Capitol Records' circular headquarter building located in Los Angeles is a recognized landmark of California.

On Tuesday, November 15th, Capital Records was gifted their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and a slew of A-list celebrities attended the ceremony, including Katy Perry, Neil Diamond, Beck, One Direction's Niall Horan, 5 Seconds of Summer, Bob Seger, Halsey, MC Hammer, Tori Kelly, and Ryan Adams. Capital Records is the first record label in history to receive a star on the Walk of Fame.

To help celebrate this monumental event, Step and Repeat LA designed, printed, and fabricated a 8' high by 36' wide media wall, featuring the logos of Capital Records, along with the event sponsors including American Airlines, Duvel, and Crate & Barrel. The 36' wall was constructed outside of the Capital Records tower along the Walk of Fame, next to the Walk of Fame stars of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. In addition, Step and Repeat LA also created a custom 8' high by 10' wide media wall located inside the tower's lobby.

Ben Toth, a representative for Step and Repeat LA who was onsite during the installation, had this to say, "This was one of the most exciting events we have ever done! When we were initially approached to create the media walls, we had no idea just how big this event was going to be. There massive search lights, celebrities, limousines, paparazzi, and fans... everything that makes an event a spectacle!"

Step and Repeat LA provides complete delivery, setup, take-down and pick-up services for all media wall purchases. For traditional banner orders shipping outside of the Los Angeles area, Step and Repeat LA provides free ground shipping. Step and Repeat LA is a one-stop-shop for all event planners, and offers a variety of additional event products including red carpet, choice of gold, silver, or retractable-belt black stanchions, plush red or black velvet ropes, studio-quality lighting, life-size cut-outs, and much more.
