Newel LLC Acquires Dual Modern, Doubles Midcentury Inventory

NEW YORK CITY - Newel LLC has acquired the collection of more than 10,000 midcentury pieces of furniture and decorative accessories through the purchase of dealer Dual Modern. Through this acquisition, Newel Will expand their archive of midcentury offerings with a large and unmatched selection of inventory. This will elevate both Newel's selling and rental operations.
Since its founding in 1939, Newel has emerged as a respected and go-to antique giant, with a prominent reputation in the interior design industry and among collectors around the world. The company is known as the largest antiques and decorative arts dealer in New York City, boasting a 9,000-square-foot gallery in Manhattan and a 100,000-square-foot warehouse in Long Island City. The company's current collection hosts more than 40,000 pieces spanning the ages from of Seventeenth-Twenty-First Century.
Dual Modern was founded in 2005 and has since amassed thousands Of pieces of American, European and Scandinavian furniture, lighting and accessories. Some famous designers within the Dual Modern collection include Probber, Wormley, Gibbings, Nelson, McCobb, Eames, Risom, Bennett.
"Acquiring antiques can be emotional; when you spend nearly two decades carefully sourcing and hand-selecting items that are sometimes so rare that they are the only ones in existence, you want to find clients who appreciate that labor of love," said James Stolaroff; Dual Modem founder.
