WeCutFoam, situated in Silicon Valley, Northern CA specializes in decor for store front as well as for products launching and branding.
The company was recently approached by a trade show exhibit and event marketing firm from San Diego to fabricate oversize 7ft Cowboy boots and hat props for his customer, presenting at a Trade Show in Atlanta, GA.
Using Styrofoam was a great solution as it is lightweight, low cost and easy to sculpt and work with. We machined the foam, glued the pieces together, patched and sanded.
Our artists coated the props with a cast N coat Smooth on and then, using a specialty painting technique and templates, they gave the boots a rustic realistic appearance.

The hat was coated as well, then painted light tan, while putting attention to the details, including a silver bucket and a colorful patterned ribbon

We then assembled and connected them both together, so that they can be hung from the ceiling or a crane. We placed plywood and hooks inside the hat's top.
The whole build, weighing only about 75lbs, was secured to an extra large crate weighing about 1000lbs and shipped to the trade show in GA.
About the CompanyWeCutFoam is one of the leading fabricators of foam products in the Bay Area, serving the entire U.S. for over twenty years. The company creates custom props for movie sets and theaters, dimensional signs, letters, logos, architectural shapes, museums and galleries exhibits, trade show displays, parade floats and more.
