Laurel Canyon Stages, Inc. - Stage B
Fun fact: The longest-standing full-size physical science fiction spaceship sets for commercial rental are located in Arleta, California.

For over three decades, Laurel Canyon Stages, Inc. has housed its popular sets in its Stage B, providing an out-of-this world environment for productions large and small. Built in 1992 for a pilot production, the decision was made to fortify, maintain, and keep these sturdy structures intact. Since then, they have been in continuous use and by feature films, series, music videos, commercials, photography layouts, and interviews. A NASA astrophysicist even shot footage on them for a science/educational theme park attraction.

A few notable guests who have graced our signature sets are Star Trek royalty William Shatner, Sir Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew, Michael Dorn, Walter Koenig, and Armin Shimerman--four starship captains, a commander, and a Ferengi! A shout out to Sean Young of Blade Runner fame for starring in a Star Trek tribute project here. In another version of the cosmos, Episode 3: Bushwhacked of the cult classic series FIREFLY was lensed here with the entire iconic cast. And I would be remiss not to mention that a short was shot on our sets by an amateur auteur for a contest honoring the 40th anniversary of Ridley Scott's ALIEN; James Paxton, son of the late Bill Paxton, was cast to be the creature and wore an actual xenomorph costume for the role. Talk about nerd levels blasting off their meters!

On the lighter side, Mel Brooks, Adult Swim, Key and Peele, Dunkin' Donuts, video game makers, and a myriad of others have created galaxies of satirical and hilarious content on our versatile space vessel. It might be true that in space, no one can hear you scream, but they can certainly hear you laugh.

We fully embrace the motto "Sci-fi will never die." The genre's allure expands like the universe. As long as filmmakers and writers have imagination and the yearning to explore distant worlds, LCS has got your ride.
