Los Angeles - Step and Repeat LA was tapped to design and fabricate a series of custom scenic backdrops for the 2026 Storytellers Summit 2026, hosted by the National Geographic Society.

For the multi-day event, the company moved beyond traditional step-and-repeat formats, delivering a layered environmental design approach tailored for both live experience and on-camera capture.
Among the featured builds was a dimensional backdrop composed of staggered 3D square panels in varying depths, creating a textured, architectural wall that played with shadow and light for added visual depth on camera. The installation incorporated National Geographic's signature black-and-yellow palette, using negative space and scale to create a modern, editorial look suited for arrivals and social moments.

Step and Repeat LA also produced a stage backdrop featuring alternating hedge walls, introducing a natural, organic element that softened the overall design and provided visual contrast for speaker sessions.
Separately, the team designed and fabricated a series of geometric, architectural 3D panels with integrated LED accent lighting. These lightbox-style elements-featuring bold framing and clean lines-were installed as standalone scenic features, adding depth, dimension, and a controlled lighting environment for photography and video capture throughout the venue.

The annual Storytellers Summit convenes filmmakers, photographers, journalists, and explorers, and Step and Repeat LA's builds were designed to support high-volume press moments while elevating the overall environmental design of the event.
The project underscores the company's continued expansion into full-scale scenic fabrication for live events, with an emphasis on camera-ready builds that translate seamlessly across in-person and digital platforms.
Step and Repeat LA specializes in custom scenic fabrication, branded backdrops, and large-format print solutions for premieres, festivals, and live events across Southern California.
