Annie Awards Call for Entries
By: Annie Awards | September 11, 2013
The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, announces its "Call for Entries" for the 41st Annual Annie Awards! Use this link for the online submission portal: https://submissions.annieawards.org/. Step-by-step instructions are located at: https://submissions.annieawards.org/files/How-To-Create-And-Upload-Your-41st-Annies-Submission.pdf Categories and Rules are located at: http://annieawards.org/award-categories/ If you need help, please contact us at: submissionshelp@annieawards.org
Submissions deadline is midnight, November 4, 2013.
The 41st Annual Annie Awards ceremony is set for Saturday, February 1, 2014 at UCLA's Royce Hall in Los Angeles. Entries submitted for consideration will be from productions that were released in the United States between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013. (There are certain exceptions for late premiering films and for student entries. Please see Categories and Rules for more information.)
The deadline to join ASIFA-Hollywood or to renew professional level memberships in order to participate in the Annie Award voting is also Monday, November 4, 2013.
ASIFA-Hollywood's Annual Membership Drive Begins
This week, in anticipation of the Annie Award season, our annual membership drive commences. In fact, you may have received a note from us during the last week or two, explaining that your membership has expired or is about to, and that it is time to renew. If you are a corporate sponsored member, your studio is probably compiling its roster of new and returning enrollees right now.
Even if you have not received a renewal notice, please check your membership status, e-mail and postal addresses (go to http://members.asifa-hollywood.org/members/login, log in and check your account) since "For Your Consideration" materials are going out soon, if you are not on the list as a current member or your address is not correct, when we send the membership roster to the studios, you will not get the materials (screeners, screening invitations, etc.) they want to send to you.
There are many advantages to being a member. Just take a look at our website or the e-mail blast accompanying this note. There are screenings, events, festivals, special offers, networking and educational opportunities, and, of course, participation in the Annie Awards.
And there is one more important benefit, the most intangible reason to be a member...and perhaps the most important. That is support for our community; standing with us in our continued effort to improve, sustain and grow the world's foremost professional animation organization, dedicated to promoting the art of animation and celebrating the people who create it.
So it's not just getting a video screener, or the opportunity for you and your family to see an animated feature, or attending a special event, or taking advantage of one discount or another. Rather, it is the knowledge that you are part of a wider and more encompassing community, with a history that is important and a culture that you are proud of and want to see flourish, now and into the future. Membership in ASIFA-Hollywood is not a selfish act -- it is a selfless one, acknowledging the community you work in and, hopefully, the community you love.
Remember, in order to qualify to participate in this year's Annie Award ballot, you must be registered as a pro-level member by November 4th.
