  1. BLUE MOON CLEANING<br />RESTORES MUSIC-MAKING

    BLUE MOON CLEANING
    RESTORES MUSIC-MAKING

    October 21, 2024

Recently, LA-based Blue Moon Cleaning was contacted by a guitar-maker after suffering a sizeable warehouse fire. The fire started afterhours with a battery stored inside their production plant. Fortunately, someone saw the smoke outside and called the LA Fire Department. Fire crews arrived quickly and went to work breaking locks, saw cutting iron gates, and making their way toward the fire. Once inside, fire crews punched large holes into the ceiling to relieve smoke and pressure from the building. Everything was doused with water and chemical fire suppressant - guitar parts, tools, everything. The guitar factory was rendered completely untenable, and guitar-making came to a screeching halt. Thanks to the quick work of the LAFD, the building's structure was saved. But the contents were soaked and covered with ash and soot. The fire caused a major business disruption as company resources had to be diverted away from guitar-making and towards clean-up, repair, and restoration. Soot and ash are very toxic and corrosive. Prolonged contact with wood, metal, or plastics can cause irreversible damage. So, it was critical that the guitar-maker act quickly to safeguard its employees and contents by ensuring cleanup and repairs were done expeditiously and done right. Blue Moon Cleaning was hired to handle the cleanup and restoration. The LA-based cleaning company is IICRC-certified in restoring properties damaged by fire and smoke. So Blue Moon knew exactly what to do. The company dispatched experienced technicians who went to work removing ash and soot from inside the structure. Walls, ceilings, and trusses were scrubbed with neutralizing agents. Floors were steam cleaned, and the air inside the plant was treated using specialized air scrubbers and odor removers. After cleanup, Blue Moon replaced missing ceiling and hauled away dangerous debris. Blue Moon restored this client's ability to focus on doing what they do best: making music through amazing guitars. The next time you experience water or fire damage, or simply need a cleanup, call Blue Moon Cleaning to get your show back on the road. 818-968-6423 bluemooncleaning.com

Another Collaboration Between WeCutFoam and Event Planner

    October 11, 2024

WeCutFoam collaborated yet again with E2K, an event entertainment organizer to fabricate the San Francisco 49ers SF logo, this year at 12ft wide by 8ft tall. The sign was delivered, assembled and displayed at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara to serve as a backdrop decor for their upcoming football season games This great collaboration started back in 2014 when we fabricated Levi's Stadium letters for their grand opening, coated them in Polyurea hard coating so they will last for years and painted them. Throughout the years since then, we created multiple letters and signs for them, including Wall Street Journal WSJ signs in various sizes and techniques, from 2ft to 5ft tall for annual events as well as the "be invincible" sign for Women Conference in Moscone Center in San Francisco. At WeCutFoam, we join forces with many event planners, production companies, music festivals organizers and other production companies to assist them in creating signs, letters, props, decor, exhibits and art work for any event they may need assistance with. Having our in-house manufactured CNC hot wire foam cutters and CNC routers, as well as our exports and artists teams, we are able to produce mesmerizing elements to enhance any event and occasion. Some of their many duties include securing sites, parking, noise reduction, power sourcing, catering, cleanup, and a whole lot more. Additionally, producers and directors can relax knowing that a Location Manager has secured any necessary official permits, licenses, or other local requirements. This job is not for someone with a low threshold for stress. Any recognition these guys and gals receive is simply not enough. ESTA and Earl Girls, Inc. Launch $100,000 TSP Fundraising Challenge

    September 30, 2024

The Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) and Earl Girls, Inc. invite industry professionals and supporters to take the EGI Challenge and join the Technical Standards Program (TSP) in advancing safety and innovation. With an ambitious fundraising goal of $100,000 by December 31, 2024, the TSP aims to match a generous $50,000 donation from Don Earl and Earl Girls, Inc. As the only ANSI-accredited standards writing program in the entertainment sector, the TSP plays a crucial role in creating safety and interoperability guidelines for stages, venues, and events worldwide. Donations ensure the continued development of vital protocols for rigging, event safety, electrical power, mental wellness, and more. "Supporting the TSP is an easy decision," said Don Earl. "Safety in entertainment is so important, and I hope the EGI Challenge will encourage others to make the same choice we did. The money we raise together will continue to empower the work of over 350 volunteer experts dedicated to drafting standards that reflect the latest technologies, save lives, protect equipment, and enhance creativity." Make a difference and donate by December 31, 2024, to help meet the $100,000 goal. Once you've donated, you'll be added to the prestigious TSP Investors in Innovation list, and you can proudly declare, #WeHelpedTSP. To donate, visit tsp.esta.org/donate . About ESTA. ESTA is a nonprofit trade association for the entertainment technology industry. Membership comprises the industry's leading dealers, manufacturers, production companies, rental companies, and professional services. ESTA's members are responsible for creating some of the most vital programs in the industry, including the Technical Standards Program (TSP), Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP), and Rental Guard. Membership in ESTA supports increasing safety through the development of standards and certifications; educating members and providing business resources to increase profitability; representing the interests of the industry to government, regulatory bodies, and related industries; and raising the bar for ethical and professional behavior.

Book your hotel room by October 1 to secure a discounted rate. There's still time to register for ESTA's Plugfest, where manufacturers and developers test their lighting products for interoperability. Plugfest 2024 takes place October 24 through October 27, 2024, at the Marriott Dallas/Fort Worth in Westlake, Texas. The scheduled hours are 9:00am-11:00pm CDT Thursday through Sunday, with meeting blackout windows every evening to provide dedicated time for Plugfest activities. Attendance is free for both ESTA members and non-members! We anticipate a larger-than-usual turnout for this event, so please reserve your spot by emailing us at plugfest@esta.org to express your interest in attending. ESTA's hotel room rates are only valid through October 1, so make your reservation today! Visit esta.org/meetings and click the "Reserve a Hotel Room" link at the top of the page. On that same page, you will also find a link to an ESTA flight discount through United. ESTA's Plugfest is a unique opportunity to connect your lighting products with those of other manufacturers to test and resolve compatibility challenges. Attendees from around the world bring controllers, intelligent lights, control protocol analyzers, and other network-connected components to improve their product experiences. Plugfest has become a vital step in many global manufacturers' product development roadmaps. This is a chance to take advantage of the vast knowledge and experience of the CPWG, one of the Technical Standards Program's largest working groups. Members of the E1.11 (DMX512), E1.20 (RDM), E1.31 (sACN), and E1.33 (RDMnet) task groups who helped develop the standards will be available to answer questions and assist with our protocols. ESTA invites the industry to drop in, test your gear, refresh your knowledge, and become a part of the Plugfest community. Particular interest is expected from participants in the testing of products to the BSR E1.20 Remote Device management update as well as remote file transfer and firmware upload capabilities outlined in the BSR E1.37-4 draft standard. An informal kick-off presentation will be given each morning at 9:00am. First-time attendees are especially encouraged to attend this orientation event.
