Statement from the Coalition for American Production on Rep. Moran's Federal Incentive Legislation

The Coalition for American Production (CAP) applauds Representative Nathaniel Moran for his leadership in drafting federal tax incentive legislation to support the U.S. film and television industry, as detailed in today's Variety report.

For too long, American production infrastructure and the localized workforce that sustains it have suffered as international subsidies siphon projects overseas. Representative Moran's forthcoming bill in the House Ways & Means Committee represents a critical turning point. It provides a tangible, bipartisan pathway to repatriating billions of dollars in economic development, protecting countless small businesses, and keeping American crews working on American soil.

This legislative milestone arrives at a moment of unprecedented momentum. With the President recently signaling public support for a federal film incentive, and the unified efforts of the newly formed USA Film & TV Production Coalition alongside our partners at the MPA, our industry is speaking with one definitive voice.

Momentum, however, must be met with action. On Wednesday, September 16, CAP will be on Capitol Hill alongside our coalition partners to meet directly with lawmakers and ensure this legislation becomes a reality. We urge every studio, vendor, and production professional to stand with us in Washington to demonstrate the massive economic footprint of our industry.

The window to secure the future of American production is open. We look forward to working with Representative Moran and leaders across Congress to get this passed.
