Jay Silverman Directs & Produces "Django Unchained" TV One Special

One of the preeminent commercial directors of advertising campaigns across the print, television and interactive media in Hollywood today, Jay Silverman, founder of Jay Silverman Productions, has just directed and produced, in conjunction with Standing O Entertainment, a one hour TV special featuring Jamie Foxx, Quentin Tarantino, Kerry Washington and Reginald Hudlin.

On behalf of client TV One and Executive Producer Susan Banks, Silverman worked directly with filmmaker Tarantino, actors Foxx and Washington, and TV One's Cathy Hughes, who hosts the special. Filmed at LA's Griffith Park Equestrian Center and at Jay Silverman Productions Studios in Hollywood, the special will air December 15th on TV One.

Mr. Silverman said, "This was a truly unique partnership between TV One and The Weinstein Company, featuring a unique look at the true, behind the scenes stories of Quentin Tarantino's newest film, 'Django Unchained.' This film has an extraordinary cast, and this project was, for me, an amazing experience, since it's not everyday you get to work with two Academy Award winners."

Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, and starring Jamie Foxx, Samuel L Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christophe Waltz and Kerry Washington, "Django Unchained" is an upcoming western film set in the Deep South. The storyline follows Django (Foxx), a freed slave who treks across America with Dr. King Schultz (Waltz), a bounty hunter. The film is inspired by the 1966 Sergio Corbucci film "Django." Produced by The Weinstein Company and A Band Apart, "Django Unchained" will be released by Columbia Pictures on Christmas Day, 2012.

Launched on Martin Luther King's birthday in January 2004, TV One is a fast growing cable network that now serves 57 million households. Combining hit sitcoms, big studio movies, irreverent reality television and newsworthy specials, TV One delivers real life and entertainment programming from the African

American point of view. TV One represents a connection to the authentic, rich, and diverse experience of African American life, history, and culture. For more information, please see:
