Alabama Film Incentives Increase

By: Diane Hall | May 1, 2012

Alabama Film Incentives Increase
The Mobile Film Office phones continue to ring as new legislation has passed to increase incentives for movie and television productions. The new law recently signed by Governor Robert Bentley increases film incentives in the state of Alabama from $10 million to $20 million. To qualify for incentives, a production must spend a minimum of $500,000.

Eva Golson, Director of Mobile Film Office, states, "the recent success of television's, Sweet Home Alabama, Big Shrimpin' and Feature Film, October Baby, keeps the local crew steadily employed." "With the increase in incentives, the film industry will continue to expand and create additional jobs."

Mobile is film friendly and offers "Southern Hospitality At Its Best!"
