Step and Repeat LA Produces Cultural Signage for Historic Museum

Step and Repeat LA Produces Cultural Signage for Historic Museum
Step and Repeat LA highlights the history of Hong Kong and the Chinese Diaspora through the use of two different products.

Located in the quaint equestrian valley of Shadow Hills, Step and Repeat LA is an independent print shop that specializes in red carpet backdrops and signage. No job is too big or too small for this company to handle, and though their specialty may be high-end red carpet events, they also produce signage and banners for an array of different clientele.

For their latest assignment, Step and Repeat LA is thrilled to once again be working with the Chinese American Museum to produce signage that will help highlight China's colorful history. For the job, Step and Repeat LA has fabricated two of its most popular products.

The first is a traditional banner which measures 6.5 feet in height and has a length of 18 feet, and is a tribute made on behalf of The Tung Wah Group of Hospitals of Hong Kong. Produced using the highest quality 13 oz. vinyl available on the market, the banner also features several of the museum's sponsor logos.

The second product is that of a Fabric Stretch Display, a system that serves as a great alternative to media walls. The stand is constructed much like a tent, meaning that the heavy-duty aluminum poles are all held together with a cable. The poles are then locked together, and once the stand is erected, the print stretches over the stand like a giant sock. When finished, the seamless print features a matte finish, and thanks to its unique design, completely disguises the stand and keeps all mechanical parts invisible to the human eye.

"Fabric Stretch Displays are great alternatives to media walls in that you can't see how the stand is help up," says Rachel Guerrero, a representative of Step and Repeat LA. "Like a media wall, they are a clean, highly-aesthetic piece that will satisfy even the most fastidious client! And the best part, they come in a convenient carrying case with wheels, which makes them a perfect candidate for one looking to tour with their banner."

The Chinese American Museum is symbolically housed in the oldest and last surviving structure of Los Angeles' original Chinatown. Their mission: to foster a deeper understanding of, and appreciation for, America's diverse heritage by researching, preserving, and sharing the history, rich cultural legacy, and continued contributions of Chinese Americans.
