Nominations Extended for the 4th Annual PLASA Rock Our World Awards
By: Ryan Swearingen | June 6, 2011
NEW YORK, NY - PLASA has extended the submission deadline for the fourth annual Rock Our World Awards to July 10, 2011, to allow for more nominations to the popular awards program. The awards, which recognize groundbreaking achievement by PLASA Members, were designed to acknowledge the genius of both the creator of technology and the designers or integrators who apply it, these awards were originated by ESTA and are now expanded as a worldwide program under PLASA.
Contestants for the 2010 awards showcased a wide variety of achievements, from the simplest problem solver to complex uses of technology that extended the boundaries of entertainment technology. Nominations showcased everything from innovative new products, to unusual applications, to massive events that highlighted the collaborative nature of our industry.
Anyone may nominate a PLASA member for the awards. If you've seen something that's blown your mind in the last year, now is your chance to tell the world. It could be a piece of equipment you worked with, something you saw at a trade show, read about in an industry magazine, or an event you experienced. It could also be something your company created. Nominations for the 2011 awards must have been introduced to market or taken place between October 1, 2009 and June 30, 2011 and must not have been previously nominated. Nominations close July 10, 2011.
A panel of judges, including well-known industry veterans and rising young stars will judge the nominations, and finalists will be announced in early September. The winners will be announced at PLASA's annual dinner at the LDI show.
Submit nominations and view more info at www.plasa.org/rock.
