Yahoo News yesterday ran a story on its front page entitled "Chopped: The 5 Best Salad Chains in America." Authored by Yahoo subsidiary Shine, the story highlighted Chop Stop as the sole West Coast chain to make the list.

"It was a nice surprise when people started emailing me the story," said Chop Stop CEO Mark Kulkis. "We launched our first location less than three years ago, so we have some catching up to do with the big East Coast chains. But obviously, we're doing something right."

The article praised Chop Stop's "generous" six toppings and its compostable salad bowls and cutlery. It noted that the popularity of chopped salads in general has increased recently, with many people preferring both their taste and convenience. The "chopped" trend was even the focus of a major New York Times piece earlier this year.
