Chupacabra Sighting at Steve Berens' Animals of Distinction!

By: Steve Berens | September 15,2011

Some say the mythological creature that attacks and sucks the blood of small livestock , the chupacabra, is a coyote with a bad case of mange. Others believe it is a cross between a dog, rat and kangaroo. Pictures do, however, closely resemble a breed of dog called a Xoloitzcuintle or Mexican Hairless. These dogs were used by the Mayan and Aztec Indians to keep them warm at night. They were highly prized for their loyalty, intelligence, curative and mystical powers. Many people are unaware that they are bred in toy, mini and standard sizes. The standards are approximately the same size as Doberman pinschers. Our Xolo, Milano, is the quintessential creepy, scary, interesting looking character. In addition to his acting jobs, he has been used as the model for some special effects creatures. He doesn't suck the blood of goats but I wouldn't let your cats run loose in our neighborhood! Steve Berens' Animals of Distinction is a full service company including script breakdowns, budgeting, training, stunt work with animals and coordinating. We pride ourselves on doing quality work. Steve Berens is considered one of the top trainers in the business.
