Film crews will find supportive and hospitable assistance from the City of Big Bear Lake, the U.S. Forest Service, the Big Bear Lake Water District and San Bernardino County. They all have a very welcoming attitude towards production and the permit processes are easy through Inland Empire Film Services.
If you're looking for roads winding through mountain backdrops we have lots of dirt roads, paved roads and paved highways. We even have a gorgeous private paved road with views of San Gorgonio, the highest peak in Southern California!
We have a large mountain lake which is 17 miles around, intimate private lakes and private forest meadows. Our small mountain town has old fashioned store-lined streets, with lots of great restaurants. We even have 30 miles of the world famous Pacific Crest Trail that you can film on!
Big Bear Lake is also home to both Snow Summit Ski Resort and Bear Mountain Ski Resort, and Snow Valley Ski Resort is a short drive away. These resorts offer great views of the Big Bear Valley and have vehicle access to the top.
There is a California On Location Award (COLA) winning location scout/manager that lives in Big Bear as well as other good local crew and support services.
So come up to Big Bear! We are looking forward to hosting your next production!
