WonderWorks To Celebrate 50 Years With Limited Run Star Trek Enterprise Replicas Project

LOS ANGELES - August 2026 - As Star Trek celebrates its 60th anniversary, and the Olympics approach, WonderWorks is preparing to mark the milestone in a way closely tied to its own history: the creation of an extremely limited series of museum-quality, studio-scale, Starship Enterprise replicas would be built from their original molds that were used to create one of the first movie models.
The project also coincides with an important anniversary for WonderWorks, which traces its independent beginnings to Brick Price Movie Miniatures, founded during the 70's, an era when motion-picture miniatures, in-camera practical effects and physical model making were central to creating believable worlds on screen. These techniques can still produce images that appear more realistic to the eye, then do computer generated images. He has already been approached to build two for museums in time for the Olympics as he has done since 1988. This could also include memorabilia from Star Trek as well as Michael Jackson for exhibits.
Beginning with the Enterprise, WonderWorks is considering a production run limited to approximately three to six individually documented models from their original molds. Each would be produced using the company's traditional studio model-making experience, with attention to historical accuracy, construction detail, and provenance. Emmy and Saturn Award-winning Brick Price will work on the replicas with those crew members who have worked on them prior.
The timing is deliberate. Star Trek: The Original Series first aired on September 8, 1966, making 2026 the franchise's 60th anniversary year. For WonderWorks, the anniversary is also an opportunity to look back at a half-century of their work in motion pictures, television, aerospace, and exhibition fabrication-and to preserve some of that history in physical form.
Additional details on the project and WonderWorks' anniversary plans will be announced as the program develops.
