Pasadena, CA - Step and Repeat LA produced a large-format media wall and hedge wall display for the City of Pasadena's 2026 Black History Festival, held February 21 at Robinson Park. The installation featured a central media wall displaying the festival's theme and partner logos, flanked by hedge walls showcasing portrait posters honoring influential Black historical figures and cultural leaders.

Hosted by the City of Pasadena and the Black History Planning Committee, the annual festival brought together residents, performers, and community organizations to celebrate Black history, culture, and community. This year's theme, "Unifying the Culture & Protecting Our Freedom, Passing the Baton to the Next Generation," was reflected throughout the event's programming and visual environment.
Step and Repeat LA worked closely with organizers to develop the media wall layout and historical portrait displays, incorporating partner logos and creating cohesive portrait collages that complemented the overall presentation. The display served as a visual focal point within the festival grounds and provided a structured backdrop for photography and attendee interaction.
"We worked closely with the organizers to refine the layout, incorporate partner logos, and develop the historical portrait displays so everything came together cohesively," said Codi-Rose, Executive Director of Step and Repeat LA. "It was a collaborative process, and we were glad to support the festival with a display that honored the occasion."
The installation combined the clean presentation of the media wall with the natural texture of the hedge walls and the historical portrait elements, creating a respectful and visually unified environment aligned with the festival's purpose.
