Meet Michael Way | Engineer
We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Way and we've shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, what matters most to you?

The Principal matter of Sound Pressure Labs (SPL) is the quality of the sound and the integrity of the art. The music business is first and foremost the principal that matters. I have always had an adherence to integrity and the best of the best.

After watching the future of businesses unconditional alliance with profits, and the allegiance to the share holders, the corporate interests have displayed a lack of understanding and respect for the world, the environment and life itself.

Without life, there is no need for business. It feeds our children and builds our houses. We have ignored the true perspective of life by.embracing these practices.

As we grind ino the future resources and the concepts of life have disappeared, it has dissolved into an uncomfortable and unconscious desire for wealth without integrity. With the establishment of the internet life has become convoluted and incoherent..

I have made it a practice to embrace Native American practice and ceremony into daily concepts of business manifestation, Tied to my philanthropist needs and my Christian upbringing, I believe in Taoist concepts and Buddhist philosophy. The spiritual practice firmly planted foundations in my daily life..

It gives .me.great frustration and motivation to keep.these concepts alive in the daily grinder of conceptual thought and understanding. I let people go on their way when they disconnect from the ideals of their own words. I have no loyalty to the people who base their life on fear..

SPL has a belief that the right people with the right energetic enthusiasm will be here and be a part of the project when needed. The money will come at the right time to do the right thing, We create good business practice by reducing and reusing materials and resources. Without the destruction of the surrounding environment, we will use off the shelf concepts rather than redesign, and employ frivolous untested concepts.

We at SPL don't believe in the mass consumption of energy by building huge server farms and consumer electronic manufacturing to sell the next iPhone. It is the direct consumption of millions of watts of energy to maximize profits and reduce human need for growth. Going paperless, increases profits for the corporation while putting the burden of ink and paper on the consumer which increases waste. Going online to book services increases profits for corporations by reducing customer service personnel, and puts the burden on the need for more home computer systems. Sending out for Instacart requires huge server farms and consumes more energy than driving a V8 at three miles a gallon. Buying an electric car puts more demand on the grid than burning wood or coal.

New consumer interests and propaganda of internet services, social media, and the rise of energy costs are directly related to the increase of the homeless and starvation.. People's detatchment and ignorance are rampant. It is a gross dereliction of the concept of the "woke" generation and it convolutes the concept of realization of self. The more we focus on profits, the more we become detatched from the human element..

Without the human concept of experience and existence, what is the purpose of business itself? When surrounding your business in a Zen like space, the next generation will see the need to build life into business itself and the integrity will follow.

Music and entertainment is designed to emulate life and to show concepts beyond profit and gain. The powers that be maximize profits to increase tax revenue and reward the destruction of our earth and make life unbearable.

I opposed these concepts by giving to children's arts programs like The Young Playwrights, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and I created the Garberville Youth Theatre Company. I restored and repurposed a historic theatre rather than building a new one. I have restored Victorian homes rather than sending 150 year old redwood to the scrap heap and replacing it with pine, I prefer restoring classic cars rather than buying batteries in electric cars, which is the new common practice to.drive profits..

Solar pannels will be the next greatest toxic waste program that we give to our legacy. Not a daily concept we share while we blindly buy the next green idea and waste away real tangible ideas. We have driven the need for plastic wealth and toxic profits. More and more do we create a new machine to do what we have always done with a shovel. We are pushing humanity into a new dark age and we at SPL feel this is the opportunity to show the light before the darkness appears.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We're big fans and we'd love for our community to learn more about your work.

Transmigration was the first release from the R&D work done at the Garberville theatre. It is the concept of binding art, spirt and, technology. SPL believes that going against accepted modern concepts, speaking up and speaking out is the only way to change to world around you. Hard work understanding and doing what others consider impossible is the foundation of Sound Pressure Labs.

The lessons I have learned is temperance and perseverance is the most powerful tools in believing in yourself. Also, without utilizing the past as a tool the future will lack understanding.

Decades of discipline, meditation and practice will cause other people to use the words like luck and privilege when describing you.
Other people that fail to recognize the work required to achieve great accomplishments when they only observe the outcome and not the results of dedication.

SPL focus on the joys of life, the passion of artists, and the creation of beauty which is the purpose of art, music and literature. Without these things life becomes mechanical redundant and monotonic. SPL is an organic concept on the digital domain.

Let's say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary - say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

We would eat at the best Taco shop it is Souther California. (El Puerto Spring Valley, California. It is still family owned and they recognize me from High School.

Then off to Griffith Park, followed by the Getty Center. Philanthropist are giving to the world at no cost, no ticket sales and the best experience in science and art.

Then to the beach or a mountain waterfall making California famous. There we take the time to reflect on life, laughter and fellowship.

Finally, the sunset strip and the walk of fame to honnor the artists that came before us and to support the up and coming artist working hard to share new ideas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

Dr. Audrey Levy and Dr. Michael Newdow, The Hollywood Sapphire Club and the Garberville Theater. James Gardiner and the Gardiner Music Metoring Project.
