Hawthorne Direct, a full service brand response advertising agency, has promoted Tammy Shull to the position of Executive Director, Administration and Human Resources. Shull will remain based out of the company's Fairfield, Iowa, offices. The announcement was made today by Hawthorne Direct's Chief Operating Officer Jessica Hawthorne-Castro.

ABOUT TAMMY SHULL
Prior to her promotion, Tammy Shull had been the Director, Administration and Human Resources for Hawthorne Direct since 2008. In her post, she leads all areas of human resources in support of the agency's strategic plans. Shull builds internal and external pipelines to ensure a sustainable bench of developing and ready-now talent for key positions; acts as business advisor to the company's Chief Executive Officer and senior management teams; and provides facilities and operational management of Hawthorne's Fairfield offices and production studio.

Earlier, Shull had been Human Resources Manager with MetroGroup, a direct mail production business, from 2004-2008. As such, she led the company's human resources functions at corporate and plant levels. Her responsibilities included recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and organizational development.

From 1996-2003, Shull was Human Resources Manager with Experian Marketing Services, spearheading human resources staffing, compensation, and employee relations for that large direct marketing letter shop. Previously, Shull was Human Resources Manager with General Electric (GE) from 1978-1996. During her tenure with the company, she worked for a number of GE's divisions while based in various U.S. cities. These included: GE Switchgear - Burlington, Iowa; GE Lighting - Cleveland, Ohio; GE Lighting - Goldsboro, N.C.; GE Aerospace - Pittsfield, Mass.; and GE Lighting - Mattoon, Ill.

Shull received a master's degree in Organizational Development and Analysis from Case Western Reserve University. Earlier, she graduated from Eastern Illinois University, having earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Political Science. Additionally, Shull holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification.
