Studio Tech Supports Remote Media Production at King of the Hammers
Johnson Valley, CA - Remote film and television media teams face predictable - and expensive - connectivity problems: no wired infrastructure, unreliable cellular service, large-format media uploads, cloud-based editorial workflows, producer approvals in real time, and field units spread across miles of terrain. When you leave the studio lot, connectivity quickly becomes one of the biggest operational risks on location.

At King of the Hammers in Johnson Valley, Studio Tech deployed a fully redundant remote network supporting Morning Walk's media operations for Optima Batteries, the events principal sponsor - a real-world example of how modern productions can operate efficiently in infrastructure-limited environments.

We built the deployment around our 30' tower trailer, serving as an elevated network and communications hub. A Peplink bonded router aggregated three Starlink High Performance terminals to create resilient, high-bandwidth satellite internet capable of supporting continuous high-resolution uploads to cloud workflows. Elevated Wi-Fi access points mounted on 25' stands created structured production zones at base camp, while Starlink Mini systems with magnetic vehicle mounts enabled mobile teams to transmit content from anywhere on the course. A professional Motorola radio system with a base station antenna at the top of the tower ensured reliable voice coordination across the footprint.

The result: faster uploads, real-time collaboration, mobile connectivity for field units, and redundancy designed to minimize downtime - even in harsh desert conditions.

If your next production is heading off-grid, your network should be purpose-built for the environment. Studio Tech designs and deploys remote connectivity systems that keep production moving.
