Producers Guild of America opens submissions and announces key deadlines for the 2013 PRODUCERS GUILD Awards

LOS ANGELES (July 17, 2012) - The Producers Guild of America announced today the opening of the submissions and key deadlines for consideration for the 2013 Producers Guild Awards. The 24th Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Producers Guild National Board Member Michael De Luca (MONEYBALL, THE SOCIAL NETWORK) will produce and chair the event.
The Guild will use its awards submission website - www.producersguildawards.com - to provide a fully digital interface for submission for its 13 competitive categories. Competitive honors to be presented at the 2013 Producers Guild Awards include:
- The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures
- The David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television
- The Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television - Comedy
- The Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer Episodic Television - Drama
- The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Non-Fiction Television
- The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Competition Television
- The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Live Entertainment/Talk Television
- The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures

2013 PRODUCERS GUILD AWARDS at Beverly Hilton Hotel
In 1990, the Guild held the first-ever Golden Laurel Awards, which were renamed the Producers Guild Awards in 2002. Richard Zanuck and Lili Fini Zanuck took home the award for Best Produced Motion Picture for DRIVING MISS DAISY, establishing the Guild's awards as a bellwether for the Oscars. Last year, the Producers Guild awarded THE ARTIST with its Darryl F. Zanuck Outstanding Producer Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures, marking the fifth consecutive year the Producers Guild has presaged the Motion Picture Academy's choice. The Producers Guild Awards have also honored such luminaries as James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, Jerry Bruckheimer, Brian Grazer, Steven Bochco, Clint Eastwood, Norman Lear, Sherry Lansing, Laura Ziskin, Scott Rudin, Robert Evans, Roger Corman, Lorne Michaels and Leslie Moonves, among others.
