Producers Showcase (ProShow) Grand Prize Winners Bill Vigil & Michelle Reed for PSSST!

The Producers Guild of America (PGA), in association with the International CES®, announced today that more than 1,400 members of the entertainment producing community attended the fourth annual Produced By Conference (PBC) held June 9-10 at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, Calif. Reaching across film, television and new media industries, the Produced By Conference (PBC) is an educational forum that involves acclaimed producers, including countless Academy Award®-winning filmmakers and Emmy® Award winners, as well as the next generation of creative entrepreneurs. Producers Christopher Nolan, Peter Berg, Nigel Lythgoe, Lawrence Gordon, Nina Jacobson, Mark Cuban, Mark Gordon, Shonda Rhimes, and Brian Grazer joined more than 100 of Hollywood and digital media's top producers and business leaders to share their insights, expertise and vision to inspire and inform attendees throughout the two-day conference. Topics covered included global finance and production, distribution, independent film, scripted and reality television, digital content, marketing innovation, visual effects, and
much more.

The PGA also announced today the grand prize winners of the 2012 PGA Producers Showcase (ProShow) competition-Bill Vigil & Michelle Reed (USA) for PSSST!. They received $20,000 in prizes. The goal of the PGA ProShow competition is to facilitate global and local film producers' projects by coordinating business with potential producing partners, film financiers, packagers and distributors, with a particular emphasis on international co-productions.

The finalists included: Chris Cuthbertson (Nova Scotia, Canada) for ADAM & LARRY'S KILLER APP; Janet Muswell (USA) for CARGO CULT; Norm Hunter (USA) for COLUSA; Eva Orner (New South Wales, Australia) for LENI; Gretchen Kirsch (USA) for MY DAUGHTER MOIRA; Zaid Abu Hamdan (Jordan) for NOSTALGIA; Yonghee Lee (Korea) for SAMMY LEE; Beverley Gordon (USA) for SCOUT; and Robyn Kershaw (Victoria, Australia) for WINTER OF OUR DISCONNECT. All finalists received free admission to this year's PBC, participation in one-onone meetings with top Hollywood financiers, studios and production companies.

On Saturday, June 9 of the PBC, the PGA, American Society of Cinematographers and Revelations Entertainment joined forces to present the Image Control Assessment Series (ICAS). This unique showcase featured the individual characteristics of current high-end digital motion picture cameras and current postproduction work-flows. Past participating camera manufacturers were Arri Alexa, RED Epic, Sony F-65, Sony F3, Canon C300 and a Arri 35MM Film Camera.

The PGA Green - the PGA's strategic initiative promoting sustainability within the entertainment industry - also conducted the first PGA E-Waste Recycling Drive in conjunction with the conference. Attendees dropped off items that were entered into a raffle to win prizes from Apple. Those who attended the "GREENING SCREENS: SUSTAINABILITY & INNOVATION" panel moderated by PGA President Hawk Koch, were also eligible for prizes.
