Opening Night of OSWALD Play Features Eastern Costume Wardrobe
By: Eastern Costume | January 18, 2012
Opening night of OSWALD, a play by Dennis Richard, at Write Act Repertory Theatre featured a police uniform from well-known costume house, Eastern Costume. The police officer uniform was worn by actor, A.J. Jones who plays Officer Sims in the play.
OSWALD partnered with Eastern Costume to run a contest to give away two tickets to attend the sold-out premiere . The winner was announced Friday, Jan. 13th and was in attendance opening night alongside directors, critics, actors and many other entertainment professionals .
Eastern Costume has a mass selection of police and military uniforms as well as civilian wardrobe from the 1920's to present day which is easily accessible at their North Hollywood location.
OSWALD is based on the bristling & explosive actual interrogation of Lee Harvey Oswald by Dallas Chief of Homicide, Captain William J. Fritz. What unfolds, is one of the most engrossing battles ever brought to the stage, as a defiant 24 year-old, tight-lipped young man goes up against the best homicide detective the Dallas Police Department has to offer. There was no stenographer & no film or audio tapes of those interrogations, just handwritten notes by Fritz. Forty eight hours & seven minutes after the President of the United States was shot & killed, there was another shot in Dallas. That shot was for Lee Harvey Oswald.
DATES: January 13th - February 18th ~ Thurs - Sat @ 8pm
Special Sundays @ 4pm ~ January 15th, 22nd, 29th & February 5th
