Documentary On Skateboarding - Day At The Pool Selected For 2012 Irvine International Film Festival
By: Jack Kaprielian | December 14, 2011
The Irvine International Film Festival (IIFF) today announced that it has added Day At The Pool, directed by Ian Douglass, Eric Fulford, a documentary that attempts to uncover the true origins of skateboarding, to its official selection. Day at the pool is screening January 14, 2012 at 5:00PM. The festival is set to start January 12, 2012, for a 5-day run at the Edwards Westpark 8 Theater in Irvine, California, and will host filmmakers from around the world.
A Day at the Pool is a documentary-style film that attempts to uncover the true origins of modern skateboarding. Interviews with Tony Alva, Stacy Peralta, Jay Adams and the rest of the Dogtown Crew reveal that an anonymous local kid may have been largely responsible for the skateboarding revolution that lead to their success in the late 70s.
