Step and Repeat LA delivers Media Wall for NBC Universal and Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez!
August 2, 2021
On Thursday, July 22, 2021, CEOs from Netflix, HBO, and other powerhouse companies in the film and entertainment industry gathered 'round as Pedro Sanchez, Spain's Prime Minister, presented his plans to turn Spain into the "Hollywood of Europe". The announcement took place at an exclusive gathering at NBC Universal in Hollywood, CA.
What began as a national tour in New York City on Tuesday, July 20th to promote Spanish language and culture, Mr. Sanchez and his team made a pit stop in Southern California to present his ideas for the expansion of entertainment productions in his home country.
As part of his Recovery, Transformation & Resilience Plan, Sanchez hopes to entice investors and producers to bring their productions from the US to Spain by offering tax breaks should they choose to do so. He even guaranteed the issuance of a special visa that would expedite the arrival of actors, crew and other professionals who would need to be flown overseas to work.
"Spain has all the necessary administrative and financial incentives, as well as every possible landscape..." Sanchez declared. "We aspire to become, if we are allowed to compare, the Hollywood of Europe!"
Sanchez also stated that he plans to distribute $1.8 billion worth of funds to the audiovisual sector, which he hopes will increase Spain's entertainment productions by 30% by the year 2025.
For Mr. Sanchez's press conference stage backdrop, Step and Repeat LA was called in to provide a customized 9' tall by 12' wide Media Wall. The print was designed, created, delivered and installed by the crew at Step and Repeat LA, who were also responsible for teardown after the event concluded.
While in California, Sanchez also made stops at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, UCLA, and the Apple campus in San Francisco.
Step and Repeat LA is an independently-owned and operated company that specializes in customized Media Walls, or "step and repeats", for red carpet events such as film premieres, charity events, and grand openings. In addition to custom in-house design and printing, Step and Repeat LA also provides red carpet, velvet ropes, gold stanchions, studio-quality lighting, and an array of other necessary products to ensure a true red carpet experience. Located in Shadow Hills, CA, Step and Repeat LA is accustomed to last-minute events. They can deliver prints of any size within 24-hours, and if necessary, as quickly as same-day.
