SUE CABRAL-EBERT, PRESIDENT OF THE MAKE-UP ARTISTS AND HAIR STYLISTS GUILD, TO BE HONORED AT THE MAKEUP SHOW L.A.'S 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY GALA
By: MAKE-UP ARTISTS AND HAIR STYLISTS GUILD | March 18, 2016
The Makeup Show Gala Celebrates The Femme Fatale on March 18th
at Millennium Biltmore Hotel
Los Angeles, CA - The Makeup Show LA Gala will honor Emmy® nominee Sue Cabral-Ebert, President of the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylist Guild (IATSE, Local 706) for her exceptional work and dedication to the makeup and Hollywood entertainment industries. The Gala, celebrating its 10th Anniversary, will be held on Friday, March 18th, 7:00 pm at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
Award-winning Cabral-Ebert is best known for her work on The Perfect Storm (2000), Erin Brockovich (2000), Dead Poets Society (1989), Outbreak (1995) and the original Dallas TV series (1978-1991). She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Makeup Artists and Hair Stylists Branch), the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, winner of two Hollywood Make-up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards, and a four time Emmy nominee. Sue also co-chairs the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Team Hollywood Committee dedicated to preserve and cultivate Hollywood's status as the entertainment capital of the world.
Besides being President, Cabral-Ebert is also the Local 706's assistant business representative and one of the early advocates of AB 1839, the new California film tax credit that has created a boom in employment for her members and for industry workers throughout the state. Los Angeles has now returned to being #1 in film and television production, better than it has been in 10 years. All sound stages in Los Angeles are full, and quite a few productions will be produced outside of L.A., increasing the tax credits to an even higher rate.
The Makeup Show's The Femme Fatale will present a cast of women from celluloid history by recreating numerous iconic heroines as well as the most hated villains through body art, MUFX or fashion inspired beauty makeup and wardrobe. The evening will include hors-d'oeuvres, cocktails and dancing.
