ABOUT WE ARE MANY:
On February 15, 2003, up to 30 million people came out in nearly 800 cities around the world to protest against the impending Iraq War. How did this day come about? Who organized it? And was it, as many people claimed, a total failure? The documentary We Are Many shows what went on behind the scenes and in front of cameras across the world. This is the remarkable inside story behind the first ever global demonstration, and its surprising and unreported legacy.
Shot in seven countries, the film features interviews with such luminaries as Danny Glover, Ken Loach, Professor Noam Chomsky, Vietnam vet Ron Kovic, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Richard Bransom.
London-based director Amir Amirani has made films for some of BBC television's most prestigious series, on such varied subjects as the life and death of Concorde, the strange world of awards and award ceremonies, Jimi Hendrix's house in London and music under Apartheid. Two of his documentaries have been nominated for an Amnesty International Award and One World Broadcasting Trust Award. For more information, go to wearemany.com.
