NAB Show to Showcase The Future of Drones...

-- 2016 NAB Show to Host Over 30 Drone-centric Sessions, Tech Demos and Panels --

WASHINGTON, D.C.-- NAB Show, the world's largest annual conference and expo for professionals who create, manage, and distribute entertainment across all platforms, will feature a broad slate of sessions and programs and exhibits dedicated to the latest trends in drone production and technology. The convention takes place April 16 - 21 in Las Vegas.

On Wednesday, April 20, NAB Show will host the Super Session "Drones: Opening New Vistas to Content." Produced in partnership with the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG), this session will focus on how drone-based production differs from traditional methods; how drones can be used safely and reliably in light of FAA regulations; and key factors that need to be considered when arranging and executing drone shots. Moderated by Michael Chambliss from ICG, this session will explore how the addition of drone cinematography to traditional productions can produce new levels of captivating content.

"As drone technology evolves from a nascent, hobby-driven vertical into a full-fledged production must-have, we're pleased to provide a comprehensive overview to what the marketplace offers," said Chris Brown, NAB executive vice president, Conventions and Business Operations. "From sessions on best practices and production strategies to hand-on demonstrations, NAB Show will showcase the advancements and benefits of drone technology."

The Aerial Robotics and Drone Pavilion will offer several sessions that highlight advances in aerial content creation and will also feature an enclosed "flying cage" which will show the latest drone technology in action. "Heavy Lifter Drones" will feature commercial network television directors of photography describing what type of drone technology they are currently using, "Drones in Live Broadcast" will discuss how best to use drones to augment live broadcasts, and "Drones on the Big Screen" will host some of Hollywood's top aerial producers sharing behind-the-scenes stories of their favorite drone cinematography and the gear they used to capture it. From Monday, April 18 through Thursday, April 21, "ASL Battle Drones/Drone Racing Demo" will feature another side of drone technology - racing - with demonstrations of this remote-controlled sport. "FAA Section 333 for Commercial Drones" will explain the ins-and-outs of the most recent FAA regulations concerning the commercial use of drones.

On Monday, April 18, the Broadcast Engineering Conference (BEC) session "Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (aka "Drones") for Management, News and Engineering" will focus on the safe use of drones in broadcasting as it pertains to news gathering and tower maintenance.

Post|Production World will feature "In-Depth: Best Practices for Producing Video from UAV/Drones" on Tuesday, April 19, where attendees will learn how to best set up cameras, stabilization, and popular ways that unmanned aerial vehicles can be used for maximum success. On Wednesday, April 20, "Innovations in Aerial Videography" will take an in-depth look into how drones can best be deployed in network television production, commercial cinematography, nature and landscape video, and surveying.

Key exhibitors in this space include: 3D Robotics; Amimon; Autel Robotics; DJI; Eclipse Rover LLC; EHang; Freefly Systems; Intuitive Aerial, Inc.; Multicopter Warehouse; Prodrone Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd; Roxy Drones; Shenzhen Wingsland Technology Co., Ltd; Stampede, UAB My Research; Yuneec USA; and ZEROTECH.
