PRODUCERS GUILD OF AMERICA PRESENTS THE 2011 PRODUCERS SHOWCASE (ProShow) COMPETITION

By: Kelly Mullens | Feb 22, 2011

The Producers Guild of America (PGA)
announced today the launch of the 2011 PGA Producers Showcase (ProShow)
competition, taking place in conjunction with the third annual Produced By Conference
(PBC)
to be held June 3-5, 2011. Expanded from last year's inaugural International Film
Co-Production Showcase (CoProShow), which solicited entries from international film
producers only, ProShow will now accept submissions for both international and
domestic projects. Winners will receive free admission to this year's PBC where they will
participate in one-on-one meetings with top Hollywood financiers, film commissions,
studios and production companies. The goal of ProShow, which was developed by the
PGA's International Committee, is to help film producers initiate business relationships,
co-develop compelling projects and spearhead investment.
"Last year, our inaugural CoProShow featured fabulous film projects from the
international marketplace and I couldn't be more excited to open up this competition to
an even larger group of talented producers," said Stu Levy, Chair of the PGA's
International Committee and Co-Chair of the PGA Production Showcase. "ProShow will
now offer the opportunity for producers, both domestically and abroad, to realize their
vision onto the big screen."
Applicants' projects will be reviewed and selected by a panel of prominent Producers
Guild members including Donald De Line (GREEN LANTERN, BURLESQUE), David
Friendly (LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE), Richard Gladstein
(PULP FICTION, THE BOURNE IDENTITY), Gary Goetzman (WHERE THE WILD
THINGS ARE, MAMMA MIA!), Marshall Herskovitz (DEFIANCE, BLOOD
DIAMOND, THE LAST SAMURAI), Gale Anne Hurd (THE INCREDIBLE HULK,
ARMAGEDDON), Stu Levy (VAN VON HUNTER, STREET FURY), Lydia Dean
Pilcher (YOU DON'T KNOW JACK, AMELIA), Cathy Schulman (CRASH, THE
ILLUSIONIST), Paula Wagner (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE I, II, III; VANILLA SKY)
and Paula Weinstein (BLOOD DIAMOND, THE PERFECT STORM), among many
others. Winners will be announced in May 2011 and will be invited to Los Angeles to
participate at PBC. There will be a special ceremony are the event.

The 2011 PBC is being held in conjunction with the Association of Film Commissioners
International's (AFCI) Locations Show. Reaching across film, television and new media
industries, PBC is an educational forum that attracted more than 1,100 people last year
and involves acclaimed producers, including countless Academy Award®-winning
filmmakers and Emmy® Award winners, as well as the next generation of creative
entrepreneurs. The PBC event is chaired by Marshall Herskovitz, Gale Anne Hurd and
Rachel Klein. For more information on the Produced By Conference, visit
