Location Portal Celebrates Its Second Year Anniversary in Bringing Premier Office Properties to the Film Industry!

By: Heather Ross | Jan 9, 2012

Home to location filming, Los Angeles boasts thousands of office properties, many of which have space that is ideal for filming. Not being familiar with the space inside these buildings, film production often requires a location filming agent to assist them in finding what they need. Whether it's a building lobby they can shoot in during the week, a large furnished conference room or a sea of cubicles, The Location Portal has relationships with nearly every commercial office building management team in the Los Angeles 30-mile studio zone and the ability to find production exactly what they're looking for.
For two years now, The Location Portal's experience in the commercial real estate industry has provided property clients the satisfaction of knowing the location filming process will be handled in the most professional manner and with minimal impact to the property and its tenants. This enables The Location Portal to provide production clients with a more streamlined process, having a liaison that is experienced in both property management and film production.
The Location Portal has a relationship with key production clients, including location managers and scouts, directors, producers and studios. Thus, the exposure for our property clients to the film industry is significant. The Location Portal is informed as to all local governmental requirements and has access to new technologies that streamline the filming process.
In other words, The Location Portal is able to understand both property and production clients' needs and ensures both have a positive experience and build an ongoing mutually beneficial relationship.

The following Location Portal Principals are dedicated to serving clients with the utmost service excellence:

Heather Ross, Principal
Heather has an extensive background in commercial real estate, having managed million square foot high rises in Downtown Los Angeles and Century City. Having left that career in 2005, Heather went on work in film production, and also to consult with commercial property owners to enhance their revenue by procuring location filming at their properties. In January 2010, Heather formed The Location Portal, enabling her to fully serve property and production clients' needs. Heather's understanding of these needs coupled with her experience in property operations and film production make her a valuable asset to The Location Portal team.
Heather is a graduate of the Claremont Colleges, a published author and has raised over 1.5 million dollars for charitable causes, including Hope for Firefighters and the United Nations Association. She lives in Manhattan Beach, California.

Chris Catalfamo, Principal
Chris brings over sixteen years of experience in location filming representation in Los Angeles to The Location Portal, having served as Vice President of Marketing for Hollywood Locations where he negotiated thousands of productions and produced millions in revenue for commercial real estate clients. After this, Chris went on to lease and manage real estate in multiple areas of Los Angeles. In 2010, he joined The Location Portal and brought his extensive knowledge of film production and commercial real estate to The Location Portal team.
Chris is an accomplished photographer and web developer. He lives in the San Fernando Valley, California with his wife and son.
