2016 Fiesta Charity Horse Show and Spectacular

By: The Fiesta Charity Horse Show | March 17, 2016

2016 Fiesta Charity Horse Show and Spectacular
Southern California's Largest Family-Oriented Equestrian Event

GLENDALE - The Fiesta Charity Horse Show and afternoon Mane Event, produced by the non-profit Fiesta of the Spanish Horse, returns to the Los Angeles Equestrian Center April 28 through May 1, 2016. One of Southern California's longest running charity horse shows, Fiesta Charity Spectacular raises funds for cancer research.

For both horse enthusiasts and lovers of music, pageantry and unique entertainment, the popular family-oriented event unites magnificent horses, a multi-breed horse show, and a charity benefit on Saturday filled with horses, music, food, dancing, silent auctions, vendors and more. This year's Mane Event on Saturday afternoon features an action-packed show of unique equine exhibitions, music and dance entertainment to delight audiences of all ages. The four-day event brings together impressive horses of Spanish origin from across the country, creating an equine event unlike any other in the equestrian show world.

The Saturday afternoon festivities will include a one-of-a-kind auction item, a Yamaha electric golf car signed by Star Wars star Mark Hamill, in addition to a cash drawing and many unique silent auction items. And, equine stars Traveler 7 (USC's Mascot) and Breyer Horse model Kripton Seni II will be on the grounds Saturday for meet and greets. Both of these Spanish Andalusian horses are gracious ambassadors of the breed, and more than willing to pose for photo opportunities. Traveler (who has been USC's mascot for the past 14 years) will be celebrating his 25th birthday at the show.

"I don't own a horse, but I love coming to Fiesta," says Sue McKeever, who has attended and volunteered with her grandchildren at the show for many years. "The horses are breathtaking, and there's fun for everyone at the Mane Event on Saturday afternoon. Our whole family has so much fun at Fiesta and it's all for a great cause!"

Horse show competitions begin Thursday, April 28 and continue until Sunday. The horse show will include the Andalusian, P.R.E., Lusitano, Friesian, Saddlebred, and Peruvian Paso breeds. In addition to breed specific divisions/classes, Dressage, and Western Dressage, new to the show this year is an open gaited horse division which allows any gaited horse to enter. All show competitions are open to the public free of charge.

Festivities for the Saturday afternoon family-oriented Mane Event begin at 11:30 am on the Los Angeles Equestrian Center grounds, and the Mane Event exhibitions will start at 1:00 in the covered equidome (rain or shine). The barn areas will be open throughout the day for attendees to visit and meet with the horses and handlers. Advance ticket prices for the Mane Event range from $10 - $35 (age 4 & under free for general admission). Contact 818-842-8444 or www.fiestacharityshow.com for more information.
