The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today that prolific television and film producer Mark Gordon will be honored with the 2015 Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television. The award will be presented to Gordon at the 26th Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
®Rarely do we come across an entertainment powerhouse who not only raises the bar for the standard of television, but changes the landscape of the industry altogether. Mark Gordon is that powerhouse, whose vision has brought us some of the most essential television shows of our time, such as ®Grey®s Anatomy,® ®Criminal Minds,® ®Army Wives® and ®Ray Donovan,®® said Producers Guild Awards Co-Chairs Todd Black (THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS, A KNIGHT®S TALE, THE EQUALIZER) and Ryan Murphy (®The Normal Heart,® ®American Horror Story,® ®Glee,® ®Nip/Tuck®). ®Through Mark®s abiding passion for storytelling and his profound impact on contemporary television, he truly lives up to this award®s namesake. Wolper, Don Hewitt, Garry K. Marshall, Aaron Spelling, Steven Bochco, David E. Kelley, Mark Burnett and Norman Lear, himself.

In television, Gordon®s company recently announced that their latest project, ®Benched®, a courtroom comedy for USA network, will premiere on October 28th. Currently, Gordon serves as an executive producer on ABC®s ®Grey®s Anatomy,® CBS® ®Criminal Minds® and Showtime®s ®Ray Donovan.® He is a five-time Emmy nominee and two-time winner. He is the former chairman of Teach for America Los Angeles and the founder of Citizens of the World Charter Schools, which currently serves over 1500 students in 5 schools in Los Angeles and New York.
