Additional Programming Details Revealed Highlight Conference's Mission to Bridge All Aspects of International Co-Production, Development and Distribution, Monetization and Access to Deals Across All Platforms
Los Angeles,November 8, 2018 - The National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) today announced a collection of top-line programming highlights for the organization's annual conference in Miami including the first public speaking appearance from the two newly appointed co-chairs of NBC Entertainment, George Cheeks and Paul Telegdy. The pair are set to keynote with a moderated conversation at NATPE Miami Marketplace& Conference 2019 on Wednesday morning, January 23rd. NATPE Miami will run from January 22st to January 24. Additionally, a first-time special event headlined by media mogul Tyler Perry and produced by NATPE entitled "Living theDream: A Career in Content" will take place on the Monday prior to the conference opening its doors.
NATPE also announced today the addition of three new members to their board - Susanne Daniels,Global Head of Original Content at YouTube, Kathleen Finch, Chief Lifestyle Brands Officer at Discovery Inc., and Brett Hansen, Headof Alternative Television at UTA. Heading into the yearly tent-pole event in Miami, the new board members join an impressive group of domestic and international content executives prepared to guide the conference conversation that will have an emphasis on connectivity and active deal-making.
Returning to the Fontainebleau Hotel, this year's conference will be consolidated into the same building as the conference floor, meeting rooms and exhibition suites. The programming slate at this year's NATPE Miami will surpass that of previous years, while bringing back some attendee favorites. This includes the return of popular panels "How Wall St. Watches Television"and the Station Group Forum as well as the 2019 edition of the NATPE Latin American Summit. Sessions making their debut at NATPE Miami this year include "Hollywood Dealmakers" curated by Lionsgate Television Group President Sandra Stern; a one-on-one talk on the future of distribution between, Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution President Mark Kanerand Gerhard Zeiler President of Turner International.
In addition to sessions with an international focus and those dedicated to the state of broadcast television, monetization in the digital age is being covered and will include Platforms + OTT;Unscripted; and Brands x Content. On Wednesday, January 23, NATPE presents a unique panel discussion with ad sales chiefs from the major networks including, Steve Mandala, Univision; Mark Marshall, NBCUniversal; and Jon Steinlauf, Discovery. This will befollowed by multiple showcases and discussions featuring top brands utilizingcontent to reach a measurable audience, creating their own IP and deliveringnew revenues via targeted/programmatic advertising.
