ICG at NAB New York 2019

By: International Cinematorgraphers Guild | October 14, 2019

ICG at NAB New York 2019
The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) will be exploring ways to enhance the creative focus and production efficiency of commercials in a panel titled Nailing a Commercial's Look & Sailing Through Post, set for NAB Show New York on October 16.

Panelists Joe DeSalvo (Director of Photography), Kazim Karaismailoglu (Digital Imaging Technician), Adam Kimmel, ASC (Director of Photography) and Dave Satin (Digital Imaging Technician) will discuss the theatrical-sized challenges commercial producers face with the myriad of large format sensor choices, introduction of HDR, as well as the need to harness metadata and advanced workflows to generate deliverables in multiple formats. The session will also explore how Directors of Photography work with their DITs to design efficient workflows, circumvent potential on-set problems and establish a playground for agency creatives while helping to keep the budget on target.

Michael Chambliss, ICG's Production Technology Specialist, will moderate the panel to be held on Stage 1, Level 3 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York at 3 pm.

ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL CINEMATOGRAPHERS GUILD (ICG, Local 600)

The International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600) represents approximately 9,000 members who work in film, television and commercials as directors of photography, camera operators, digital imaging technicians, visual effects supervisors, still photographers, camera assistants, film loaders, all members of camera crews and publicists. The first cinematographers' union was established in New York in 1926, followed by unions in Los Angeles and Chicago, but it wasn't until 1996 that Local 600 was born as a national guild. ICG's ongoing activities include the Emerging Cinematographer Awards and the Publicists Awards Luncheon. The Guild also publishes the award-winning ICG Magazine.
