A trailer is an edited preview intended as an advertisement for a film that will be released for distribution. The term "trailer" comes from the fact that they used to be shown after feature presentations had been shown in the theater, but since people left the room once the film ended, the process of showing trailers before features became the norm. A trailer will be produced by a skilled editor who has the challenge of presenting the talent and action in such a way as to tease an audience into coming to see the production.
