When a production is shooting on location, it often will need to rent large parking lots to set up a base camp while filming in a neighborhood, or a place to park its trucks, motorhomes, dressing rooms & cast trailers during dark days when filming at a location is interrupted. Vehicles typically are contracted for an entire production, so base camps are important in the film scheduling process.
