The director of photography (DP) is responsible for camera and lighting crews while making artistic and technical decisions relating to the images that will be photographed. The DP makes the choices for lighting and filtration on a subject/actor, as well as framing and lens choices for each scene. He selects film stock, lenses and filters to shoot the scene in accordance with the intentions of the director.
