In general, clothing styles produced before the 1920s are considered antique. Many garments required for period, or historical, productions will have to have been researched to match the authenticity of the era. They may be custom designed from photographs or rented from costume rental houses. Many studio wardrobe departments contain a large inventory of this type of garment for men and women.
