Hydraulics refers to the use of pressurized fluids to generate and transmit power to create a mechanical effect in the world of entertainment production. Mechanical effects move solid objects, whether they are animated mannequins or doors that automatically open and close on a set. Pneumatics use pressurized gas to effect mechanical motion. Commonly found on location are air compressor accessories, vacuum pumps, and pneumatic tools. Servos produce motorized mechanical motion used in animatronics & puppetry, as well.
