2ND UNIT DIRECTORS STEPPING STONE TO DIRECTING
2nd unit directors supervise many dialog-free scenes with stunts and special effects in action movies. In fact, the job of a stunt coordinator is often combined with that of a 2nd unit director. These directors will oversee a team that shoots footage including establishing shots, close-ups, inserts and cutaways. This allows the film's director and principal talent to work more effectively within budgets.
