Translation involves taking words in one language and converting them into another. In entertainment media, this may also involve dubbing (replacing original voices in a production that may be in a different language, or replacing the voice of an actor playing a singer). Subtitles are the textual version of dialog displayed at the bottom of a screen, involving a translation from one language to another. Closed captioning involves visual text on the screen for the hearing impaired. Specialized production houses provide the entertainment industry with these services.
