DIGITAL INTERMEDIATES (SCANNING & RECORDING) CREATED IN POST PRODUCTION
A digital intermediate (DI) is a film finishing process involving the digitization of a film while manipulating color and image characteristics. It is the final color correction process before a film is released for distribution, and is performed by a skilled colorist in a post production facility. DI was originally used to describe a process that began with film scanning and ended with film recording.
