An invitation is a formal request to participate at an event, while the stationery is the paper medium it will be printed upon. An event production company may secure the services of a stationer to order the embossing, engraving or calligraphy of the final product depending on the type of event and venue. Some invitations may even be as elaborate as those with freeze dried flower petals attached.
