HIGH DEF EQUIPMENT BECOMES VIDEO CAMERA NORM
High Def (HD) refers to any video system of higher resolution than standard definition (SD) with display resolutions approximately four times greater than SD (1,280x720 pixels or 720p). HD electronic cinematography is now being embraced by all major camera manufacturers, including traditionally "film only" manufacturers. Because of the quality of the resolution, this format is used extensively on television, and increasingly for movie production.
